If ever one should hear the words, "If you've ever wanted to try dark hair, now's the time to do it," while sitting in the salon chair admiring one's new pixie cut...my advice to you is to think twice.
Lovin the cut, not so lovin the color. In defense of my friend and stylist, it's a gorgeous color. But what would have been a dark blond/light brown on most people is DARK brown on me. Yikes! It'll fade, I guess. And considering most of my hair is less than three inches long, it'll grow out before long.
Pictures forthcoming.

I love dark on me! I used to be a natural blonde, but it went "dishwater" and then gray. :-(
You can recolor it blonde, I believe. You might have to wait a couple weeks, but they can make it blonde again. At least, you can if you go to WalMart and buy Loreal, LOL.
OOO, I can't wait for pictures! I'm sure the dark looks amazing on you and it's just a little bit of a shock. ;) I'm so glad you got the pixie!
Thanks for the info, Spy. Definitely good to know. She has offered to strip the color (sounds lovely) and redo. Or we could highlight. But I just don't think there's enough hair to highlight. At least not on the sides. And I honestly don't want to go all multi-colored or anything. :) It's growing on me. Hopefully tomorrow I'll snap a picture with the new camera.
Robin!
I'm loving the pixie. LOVING IT!!! So happy. :)
The color is growing on me. Plus it's faded a little, what with the 10 washings I gave it yesterday. LOL!
It's just every time I walk past a mirror there's this dark-haired girl stalking me. Hey!
