I just had to share. Now, I'm the first to admit I'm not the most technical person when it comes to computers. I love them. I use them. I make them do my bidding. But when it comes to their insides and all that, yeah, not so savvy.
But...
I just upgraded my memory. All. By. Myself.
Ha!
Just call me super speedy! Yee-haw, watch me fly now...
Poor little baby laptop was totally stifled with by its piddly memory. Went from 1GB to 2.5GB. I thought I'd be going from 1 to 3, but had a surprise when I opened her up. Two 512s instead of the 1GB I anticipated. No worries. And yet, I'm wondering whether to order another 2GB and really see what she can do. Might fry the poor thing's brains. ;) Best not to push my luck. The whole static thing kind of freaked me out.
Anyway, that's it. Carry on.

Isn't that a great feeling?! I love upgrading my computer. The first time, I was so worried, but I love feeling comfortable doing it. I have an old desktop I've rebuilt every component in!
I just had someone completely clean my computer and it ran fast for awhile, but now it's starting to slow down again. I think I need a new one since I bought this one five years ago...
Whoa, I am so incredibly impressed! I can bearly turn my computer on all by myself.
Congratulations! I used to love fiddling with computers. Then they came out with Windows and ruined all my fun.
Spy - It did feel good! Scary, but good. ;)
Melissa - Doesn't that drive you crazy? I have absolutely no patience for slow computers. Well, not much in general. LOL!
Kimber - You're so funny! I'm sure you do fine. It was a pretty simple thing to do once I found the instructions.
Tia - In my mind, the insides of computers are like a foreign language. Yet I'm starting to think I could learn it. The question is whether I have the time, and/or inclination. Doubtful. Too many stories to write.
Wow! Good job, you! I'm always scared to do this sort of thing, as I worry my computer might blow up if I do anything more than type on it.
