And here it is

10:00 PM and finally I am able to sit down and type a post. As much as I wanted to, I couldn't consider my morning blurb an actual post. And since this is the blog-everyday-in-February Blog Party, I refuse to let myself fail.

So, a few random facts (because that's pretty much all my mind is capable of producing):

1. Puppy is crashed out beside me right now, and he's running in his sleep. What do you think dogs dream about? I always imagine they're chasing rabbits. Lots and lots of rabbits.

2. I haven't had beans in three days. What's going on?! A new shipment is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. I'll post a picture of my lovely Rancho Gordo legumes when they arrive.

3. I saw a rainbow today. A gorgeous, full, exquisitely-colored double rainbow. It was perfection. I raced home, grabbed my boys and rushed them outside. This was Thing 2's first rainbow sighting. If I could bottle that look, and the resulting feeling it gave me, I would never be crabby again. Sheer joy, people. Mouth open, wide-eyed amazement. His delight in the world around inspires me every day.

Now I must sleep.

Anissa I really love your blog :) What you said about thing2 hit me. So much wonder in life with them around isn't there? Too often I find I take that for granted. Personally, I always imagine puppies are dreaming of chasing squirrels, at least ever since I saw Up.

Oooh, I wish I could see a rainbow today! They're so beautiful. Cute about thing2. :-)

Oh, if we could all live our lives like puppies and kids and embrace the joy...wouldn't that be great?

I just love that your blog muse doesn't come to you every day. Just like me. Well, actually, my muse is somewhere else altogether in every aspect. Maybe she's in the rainbow?!?

Double rainbows are the best!

And I have to agree about the dog dreams. I've always thought they were dreaming about rabbits, too.

What you said about bottling your son's reaction to the rainbow so you're never crabby again was priceless, and I'm going to be thinking about that all day!!

GREAT post :)

Loved this post, Anissa! Sleeping dogs are very entertaining. I have done that exact thing with my children. I took a picture of the last rainbow we saw off our deck. I'll have to post it some time. Really beautiful. Kids are just the best, aren't they? Enjoy your boys while they're young. It won't be too long, and they'll be driving and dating. Thanks for your great blog.

I loved this post, Anissa! Dogs dreaming about running in their sleep - could anything be funnier or cuter? My dog used to make little whuffling sounds when she had those dreams :) And there's something about rainbows that just makes you stop and take a deep breath. I haven't seen one recently but I always love when I do.

Children are amazing like that. I so wish I could bottle those looks and remember them when they've pulled all the books off the shelves or decorated the house in baby wipes and desitin. Hehe!
