Marshmallow recipe

For all interested, the marshmallow recipe I used came from the lovely Smitten Kitchen. Be forewarned. Once you click through, you will be hungry. Guaranteed. Deb does a fabulous job of making and photographing her gorgeous food. I also love her 44-clove garlic soup. Then again, I adore garlic.

Marshmallow recipe

It might seem complicated, but it's really not.
Enjoy!

Awesome. My family loves hot chocolate, and this marshmallow recipe could make me quite popular with them. Thanks!

Roxy - It's really quite simple. The candy thermometer is key, but they're quite reasonable. Let me know if you make them.

Kat - Yay for all the marshmallow fans! I hope you like them as much as we do.

You can MAKE marshmallows??? That's crazy! I flipped over to look at the recipe and got caught on how messy it was. Sigh. I'm not a lover of messes.

But I am a lover of challenges, so I may just have to try it!

I bookmarked this recipe for one of those days when I have time and am feeling especially ambitious. Yes, I do have a whole pile of photocopied recipes that are also awaiting such a day.

Those are beautiful marshmallows. I agree: the process seems messy. But just to have them--and perhaps even roast one--it seems more than worth the risk. When kitchen and I are covered in yummy, sugary goo, I'll have you to thank. :)

Have you heard about using the alternate extracts? I wonder if there could be such a thing as the marshmallow equivalent of pistachio ice cream in a pretty mint green.

Rejection Room - I don't know if it's possible, but if I can have a pistacio marshmallow...I am all over it. Let me know if you tackle the mess. Though really, it's not even that bad. Trust me.
